Biological Engineering is a very broad disciplinary field, covering all the steps of a process based on the use of living or living material.
The program aims at training generalist engineers able to intervene at all steps, from the establishment to the use, of a production system in companies related to the use of living material.
Considering the diversity of the issues to be addressed, the students must have sound knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in the disciplines of either Engineering Sciences (process engineering, biochemical engineering, industrial microbiology) and Life Sciences (biochemistry, genetic engineering, immunology, microbiology).
Engineers in Biological Engineering therefore have a strong scientific and technical background, that are necessary to carry out multidisciplinary missions in diverse sectors as varied as the fermentation industries or the pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food fields.
